Skin boosters are quickly becoming all the rage within the aesthetic industry and for a good reason! They’re designed to deliver deep skin hydration through a high concentration of hyaluronic acid which improves the skin’s elasticity, firmness, and radiance. The results? Soft, glowing, healthy skin to be proud of!
The beauty with skin boosters is they often include key ingredients of various minerals and vitamins allowing your practitioner to treat and target specific areas for you, creating a more bespoke plan to achieve your desired results. Skin boosters are particularly popular amongst our patients who want to focus on preventative ageing. Many of our patients are shocked when they find out that the ageing process accelerates from the age of 25, as our skin begins to lose collagen and cell turnover is at a much slower rate. The age old saying ‘prevention is better than cure’ is renowned for a reason! Taking preventative ageing steps are crucial to maintain a youthful, softer appearance for longer. Although ageing is inevitable there is a wide range of things you can do to prevent the signs early on. Skin boosters being one of them!
What exactly are skin boosters?
The term skin boosters are used to describe a family of nourishing facial aesthetic treatments using hyaluronic acid as a base. When Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is injected into our skin, it promotes skin rejuvenation and hydration. HA is a superhero when it comes to stimulating collagen, as well as it’s incredible capacity to retain water, HA works hard to keep skin smooth, plump and improve the skin’s texture. However, during the natural aging process and with contributing lifestyle factors where we’re exposed to sun, pollution and other toxins (tobacco, alcohol, sugar) HA decreases within the skin. This can present itself as tired/fatigued skin which is likely to sag and loose elasticity. In other words… in need of a boost!

A popular question we’re asked a lot is do they hurt?
Lots of patient experiences the treatment in different ways depending on their tolerance, often compared a small scratch like feeling for the injection and slight discomfort throughout. The minerals that are injected include an anaesthetic so you won’t be able to feel much of the treatment just a little pulling and tugging.
How long until you see results?
A smoother, softer and brighter appearance should be noticeable several weeks after the treatment. Naturally our skin booster patients reap more benefits the more regularly they have them. For best and long-lasting results, we recommend a course of 3 to start with. Skin rejuvenation is a natural ongoing cycle therefore we recommend maintenance treatments from then to keep your skin glowing. Our experts are more than happy to discuss a treatment plan to best suit your needs and budgets as well as your skin concerns.
What does the treatment entail?
The method of delivery differs depending on the area you are wanting treated. If you wish for a whole face rejuvenation your practitioner will start by injecting a small needle followed by a canula which will travel under the skin to deliver the nutrients and minerals. This will be around the lower half of the face (near the mouth) and then around the cheeks. If you’re after a more concentrated rejuvenation for example under the eyes or around the mouth then our practitioners would use a needle to inject the skin booster as several dots around the area. If you’re unsure of the type of skin rejuvenation you need then don’t worry! As our experts are on hand to help assess your skin with a FREE consultation to understand the results you’re looking for.
