Laser hair removal is generally suitable for individuals who

Not everyone is a suitable candidate for laser hair removal. The eligibility can vary depending on factors such as skin type, hair colour, overall health, and medical history.
Light Skin with Dark Hair: Laser hair removal tends to work best on individuals with light skin and dark hair.
Dark Hair: Laser hair removal is typically most effective on dark, coarse hair, as the melanin in the hair follicles absorbs the laser energy better. Light-coloured or fine hair may not respond as well to laser hair removal.
Healthy Skin: Candidates for laser hair removal should have healthy skin, free of active infections, cuts, burns, or other skin conditions in the treatment area.

The process begins with a consultation and patch test, your medical history, skin type, and hair type will be assessed to determine if you are a suitable candidate for laser hair removal. We will also explain the procedure, discuss potential risks, and provide pre-treatment instructions.
Before the laser hair removal treatment, the treatment area will be prepared. This may involve trimming the hair to a specific length, cleansing the skin, and applying a cooling gel or numbing cream to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
We use a handheld laser device to deliver pulses of laser energy to the targeted treatment area.
Laser hair removal typically requires multiple treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. The number of sessions needed can vary depending on factors such as the thickness and colour of the hair, the location of the treatment area, and individual response to the treatment.
Some patients will see results from their first treatment others will need up to 6 sessions to fully see results. We recommend you complete the full 6 sessions for optimum results. Patients may be advised to come back every 6-12 months for “touch ups” to keep the consistency.
As with any treatment side effects can appear, although they are not common. In rare cases patients may experience skin irritation, pigmentation or scarring. This will all be discussed in detail with you before treatment starts.
Patients wanting to undergo Laser Hair Removal must have a full consultation and a Patch Test 48 hours before the first treatment. We do require that you shave the area 12-24 hours prior to your laser treatment to avoid any irritation. We also ask that you do not fake tan the area being treated, staying free from tanning products for 2 weeks prior and to not actively sunbath 2 weeks prior and post treatment, including the patch test.
